CT Findings

• CT scans are not diagnostic of organizing pneumonia, they often show non-specific findings and may demonstrate features of ongoing or resolving pneumonia.
• Findings include:
• Subpleural and/or peribronchovascular consolidation
• Ground-glass attenuation and nodules
• Irregular linear opacities
• Bronchial wall thickening and dilatation
• The reverse halo sign (atoll sign) is seen in 20% of the patient

Peripheral and peribroncovascular ground-glass opacities with small areas of consolidation in a patient with cryptogenic organizing pneumonia.

Multiple bilateral subsegmental consolidations and mild bronchial dilatation with bronchial wall thickening in a patient with cryptogenic organizing pneumonia.
