Overview
Classification
Liposarcoma is one type of soft tissue sarcomas, which accounts for about 20% of the mesenchymal malignancies.
histologically, biologically, cytogenetically, and, by molecular analyses
Liposarcomas may be classified into different types, according to their histologic, cytogenetic, biologic and molecular features. The WHO has proposed the following classification of liposarcomas:[1][2]
- Well-diferentiated liposarcoma:
- Adipocytic or lipoma-like
- Inflammatory
- Sclerosing
- Dedifferentiated liposarcoma
- Myxoid liposarcoma
- Round cell liposarcoma
- Pleiomorphic liposarcoma
