Overview
Goodpasture syndrome was first identified by Dr. Ernest Goodpasture in 1919.[1]
Historical Perspective
The name Goodpasture's syndrome was first coined in 1957 in Melbourne, Australia by Stanton and Tange to describe 9 patients who presented with glomerulonephritis along with pulmonary hemorrhage.[1] However, In a book titled "Earnest William Goodpasture: Scientist, Scholar, Gentelman" by Collins described that Dr. Goodpasture was not fond of naming a syndrome after himself.[2] However, the name was adopted and used to describe this syndrome.
