Overview

Cranial ultrasonographic findings may include intraventricular hemorrhage, hypoxic-ischemic injury to the periventricular white matter and periventricular leukomalacia.

Echocardiography/Ultrasound

• Cranial ultrasonography may show
  • Intraventricular hemorrhage
  • Hypoxic-ischemic injury to the periventricular white matter
  • Periventricular leukomalacia- echodense area that after 2 week converts to an echolucent area
