Overview
There are no particular risk factors for Fanconi anemia, since this is a genetic disorder.
Risk factors
There are no particular risk factors for Fanconi anemia. This is a genetic disorder that is caused by a mutation in genes involved in DNA damage response. Patients with Fanconi anemia are more susceptible to malignancy such as acute myeloid leukemia, and a risk factor for development of malignancies includes exposure to radiation and carcinogens.[1]
