Overview
Electrocardiogram
Since Haff disease causes rhabdomyolysis, it is essential to monitor the patient for cardiac arrhythmias due to hyperkalemia or hypocalcemia.[1]
ECG Features of Hyperkalemia include:[2]
- Small or absent P wave
- Prolonged PR interval
- Augmented R wave
- Wide QRS complex
- Peaked T waves
ECG Features of Hypocalcemia include:[3]
- Prolonged QTc interval (risk factor for Torsades de pointes)
