Overview
There are no established diagnostic study of choice for dextrocardia. Despite that, many diagnostic studies may be useful, including the electrocardiogram and the chest x-ray which are both inexpensive and may be very suggestive of this condition.
Diagnostic Study of Choice
- There are no established diagnostic study of choice for dextrocardia.
- Despite that, many diagnostic studies may be useful, including the electrocardiogram and the chest x-ray which are both inexpensive and may be very suggestive of this condition.
Chest X-ray
- May show the following changes:[1]
- Cardiac apex pointing to the right
- Right-sided aortic arch
- Right hemidiaphragm presenting at a lower level compared to the left.
Electrocardiogram
- ECG may be helpful in the diagnosis of dextrocardia. Findings on an ECG suggestive of/diagnostic of [disease name] include:[2][1]
