Overview
MRI
Transitional cell carcinoma of bladder
MRI is superior to other modalities in locally staging the tumor and is in some instances able to distinguish T1 from T2 tumors on T2 weighted images.
- T1: isointense compared to muscle 4
- T2: slightly hyperintense compared to muscle
- T1 C+ (Gd): shows enhancement
Transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis
Transitional cell carcinomas are isointense to renal parenchyma on both T1 and T2 weighted images. Following administration of Gadolinium, TCCs enhance but less so than normal renal parenchyma.
