Overview
Criteria for CT scan diagnosis of Alzheimer disease includes diffuse cerebral atrophy with enlargement of the cortical sulci and increased size of the ventricles.
CT scan
- CT scan of the brain may be helpful in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. Findings on CT scan are suggestive of Alzheimer's disease include:[1] [2]
- Enlargement of cerebral sulci
- Loss of gyral volume
- Enlargement of the third and lateral ventricles
- Cerebral atrophy
