Overview
Scintigraphy may be performed to differentiate a submental dermoid cyst from an ectopic thyroid tissue swelling.[1]

- The scintigraphy scan of the submental area with a Tc99m shows no evidence of the existence of ectopic thyroid tissue.[1][2][3]
