  • The majority of patients with ovarian dermoid cysts are asymptomatic. They are discovered incidentally on testing for other reasons.
  • Large dermoid cysts that may predispose to ovarian torsion may present with acute pelvic pain.[1]

Spinal Dermoid Cyst

  • Symptoms of spinal dermoid cyst may include:[2][3]
    • Pain
    • Motor disturbances
    • Sensory disturbances
    • Bowel and/or bladder dysfunction
      • Fecal retention or incontinence
      • Urinary retention or incontinence

Intracranial Dermoid Cyst

  • Headache is the most prominent symptom of intracranial dermoid cyst.[4]
  • Less common symptoms of intracranial dermoid cysts include:
