- Metastatic neoplasms to the oral cavity
- Pilomatrixoma
- Steatocystoma multiplex
- Trichilemmal cyst (pilar cyst)
- Pilonidal cyst
- Encephalocele (when dermoid cysts appear on the medial aspect of the orbit)
- Infectious process
- Ranula
- Lymphatic malformation
- Heterotopic gastrointestinal cyst
- Duplication foregut cyst
